Know The Truth

Most people think they know what they want and believe that they dislike this or that. But the truth is many are surprised by their own feelings and sometimes even ashamed when they should be celebrating. Because we have allowed what we have been taught to be a mask that sometimes we can’t even see through much less others. Know truth and let your heart be your guide.

Sometimes Things Just Happen

I knew a man who was 24 years old and to the best of my knowledge, he never said a cuss word in his life.  I cannot confirm that though, because I never seen him angry.

He didn’t drink, he didn’t smoke, I’ve never even seen him get into a fight.

Serving his country proudly as a Naval Midshipmen hoping to earn his commission.

The woman who was engaged to him I’m sure thought that she found the prize that would make her happy for the rest of her life.

He played tennis as his regular work out.  One day he fell down on the Tennis field and he never got back up.

He had a massive heart attack.  They said that the heart attack was so massive that he was probably dead before he hit ground.

This is a true story.  And to those of us who knew him, we never could understand it, not to this day.

I tell you this story because on TV the bad guy always looses and the good guy always wins.

I’m hear to tell you that this only happens on TV.  But in the real life good people suffer and sometimes bad people seem to have it made in the shade.

I’m telling you this story so that you will understand that sometimes when you see someone having the time of their life, it may not be because they did something right.  And when you see someone suffering, it may not be because they did something wrong.

All of us will someday be held to account for our life on this earth.  I hope when your turn comes, you will proudly shine, knowing that you’ve helped those who hurt, and knowing those how had good fortune, you didn’t just join in, but rather encouraged them to help out others as well.

Thanks for listening
Shepard of Peace.

We Need To Support Syria In Its War Against Terrorism

I just got a phone call from James Lankford’s office about an email message I sent explaining that we should not support moderate rebels to fight ISIS, but rather the Syrian government who is fighting terrorists.  I’m not writing this to boast that I actually got a reply from these people who call themselves my government.  I’m writing this to protect myself, to set the record straight.  Because I disagree with them, they might label me a terrorist and I might disappear during the night. So before that ever might happen, I’m putting my newly won net neutrality into good use before they take that away.
If this young man who called me gave me his name, I can’t remember, I’m not very good at remembering names, I’m sorry.  I should have written it down.  But he was sure of himself, armed with well rehearsed propaganda about how Assad is a terrorist who would destroy Israel.

I’ll just get to the end of the conversation.  I was angry, but I kept my cool. I said, “you know, other countries called Bush a terrorist.”  He laughed, I didn’t know I told a joke, but he thought that was funny.  I explained that Bush was a democratically elected president.  I said that Assad is a democratically elected president and we should respect that just as we would expect other countries to respect our democratically elected president.  Terrorists aren’t elected, they try to take over a government with violence and that’s why we call them terrorists and we should not be supporting them.  I said that we need to just stay out of there all together and leave them alone or if we’re going to fight terrorists, then we need to support a democratically elected president who is currently fighting terrorism.  I told him I was sticking to that point of view and I’m not going to change it.  He thanked me, I thanked him and the call ended.

So that is that.  Blessed Be.

Undergoing Surgery Next Week

Next week I will be undergoing surgery.  They’ll be cutting me open on my left and right side and belly button to remove a part of my colon which has been damaged for some time.  Probably for the last 15 years.  I figure it happened when I was a truck driver, being bounced around inside the cab, going over rough loads under a heavy load.

Pretty sure I do not have cancer.  They’ll know for certain afterwards.  I’ll be out of work for two weeks drugged up on pain killers.  I imagine I’ll be making some interesting posts during that time.  So right now I declare that I am not responsible for anything I post between the 9th and the 23rd of March.

I figure I’ll be in better health afterwards.  I told my wife that I’ll have rock hard abs again, she doesn’t believe it.  I’ll have to prove her wrong, that’s my job.  I figure my high blood pressure problem will go away and a few other problems. I’ve gone two weeks without my blood pressure medicine before my blood pressure went up again.  So I figure after I’m all healed up, I’ll go completely off all my medication and see what happens and I think I’ll be alright and live to be at least 90 years old.

So I think I’ll have fair winds and following seas, but wish well for me this full moon anyways if you will and I will do the same for all of you.
